    In recent years the German singer has moved successfully into the Heldenbariton repertoire. In the 2010-2012 he sings Rheingold Alberich and 4 Villians (Les contes d´Hoffmann) in Essen, Don Pizarro in Teatro Regio Torino, in Bolzano and Ravenna, Gunther (Götterdämmerung) in Teatro Petruzzelli Bari, Amfortas, Kothner and Landgraf in Erl, Amfortas in Breslau, Jochanaan in Teatro Verdi Trieste, Holländer (Fliegender Holländer) in Montreal and Beijing (Peking).
    The 2009/2010 season included his very aclaimed debut as Alberich (Rheingold) at Oper Leipzig, Hauptmann (Wozzeck by Gurrlitt) at Lucerne Festival, Telramund in Lohengrin at Teatro Massimo Palermo, debut as Jochanaan (SALOME by R. Strauss),Orest (Elektra by R.Strauss) in Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro Municipale Piacenza, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara and Teatro Comunale Bolzano, Wanderer (Siegfried ) at Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Papageno and Holländer (Der Fliegender Hollaender) at Tyrolean Festival.

    Career highlights include Papageno at Teatro Alla Scala under Riccardo Muti, Alberich at Festival de Santander, Telramund at Teatro Massimo Palermo, Don Giovanni at Prinzregententheater Munich, Friedhold in Guntram at Teatro Massimo Bellini Catania, Alberich and Wanderer at Petruzzelli Bari under Stefan Anton Reck, Monterone at Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Lescaut in Boulevard Solitude by Henze at Oper Frankfurt, Orest at Teatro Politeama Palermo, Dr.Pangloss/Martin (CANDIDE ) at Philharmonie Berlin, Escamillo at Grosse Festspielsaal Salzburg, Father in Hänsel and Gretel at Oper Frankfurt, Ebn-Chakia in Jolanthe by Tschaikovsky at Theater an der Wien under Vladimir Fedosojev, 4 Villians at Volksoper Wien, Rigoletto, Ford at Oper Bonn, Mefisto in La Damnation de Faust in Charleston, Friedrich in Liebesverbot by Wagner and Kunrad in Feuersnot by Strauss at the Prinzregententheater Munich, Amfortas/Alberich/Wotan/ at Tyrolean Festival under Gustav Kuhn, Guglielmo Tell at Prinzregententheater Munich, Gianni Schicchi, Kaspar and Don Alfonso at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich.

    Thomas Gazheli was born in Karlsruhe , where he began his musical education as trumpet- and violinplayer. He studied singing at the Hochschule Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Maclane-Lanier and completed his studies with Prof.Josef Metternich in Munich. During his studies in Frankfurt Donald Runnicles engaged him as a soloist at the Städtische Bühnen Freiburg, followed by engagements at Theater Basel and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich, where he was a member until 2007 and where he sang a wide and varied repertoire as a principal baritone.

    Thomas Gazheli is also known as concert singer with a broad concert repertoire - he sang at the Philharmonie Berlin, Musikvereinssaal Vienna, Philharmonie Köln, Musikhalle Hamburg, Brucknerhaus Linz, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Munich, Herkulessaal and was invited for several seasons to performe with Haydn Orchestra Bolzano.
    In the course of his career, he has sung with such notable condactors as Constantinos Carydis, Paolo Carignani,Daniel Harding, Gustav Kuhn, Riccardo Muti, Günter Neuhold, Stefan Anton Reck, Donald Runnicles, Marcello Viotti,Walter Weller, and colabourated with stage directors as Peer Boysen, Luc Bondy, Robert Carsen,Werner Düggelin,August Everding, Claus Guth, Christoph Loy ,Vera Nemirova and Herbert Wernicke
