Maria Taytakova, soprano
Maria Taytakova made her stage debut as Lucia (G. Donizetti: Lucia di Lammermoor) in the State Theatre Košice (Slovakia) in 2009. In the next period she was offered the role of Musetta (G. Puccini: La Bohème) in the Teatro San Babila in Milano (Italy) and the role of Gilda (G. Verdi: Rigoletto) in the Teatro della Luna in Milano (Italy). She sang Mozart’s Requiem on a tour with the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta and Coro Filarmonico Veneto (Italy) and performed on a concert tour with the Czech Philharmonic Collegium orchestra (Japan) during which she performed in thirteen Japanese cities. Since 2013 she has been regularly performing in Austria. She sang the role of Gilda (G. Verdi: Rigoletto) at the Klassik Festival Schloss Kirchstetten (Austria). The critics highlighted her “perfect mastery of coloraturas together with the dramatic culminations” (Der Neue Merker, 3.8.2013). After this debut she was offered the role of Adina (G. Donizetti: L’Elisir d’amore) at the same festival in Austria. Her Adina caught the attention by an “excellent role shaping” and by her “wonderful, agile soprano with a sonorous middle register, magnificent legato and sparkling coloraturas” (Hintermayer Music, 2.8.2015).
Further she sang the role of Najade (R. Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos) at the stage of the State Theatre Košice (Slovakia). This was followed by the role of the role of Oberto (G. F. Händel: Alcina) in the State Theatre Košice (Slovakia).
The critics appreciated her “round chamber tone” and “flawless coloraturas” (Operaplus.cz, 28.2.2016), and in the Estate Theatre Prague (Czech Republic) where her “colourful and round voice” was highlighted (Operaplus.cz, 11.10.2017).
She also performed the role of Piramo (J. A. Hasse: Piramo e Tisbe) at the Festival TEATRO BAROCCO in Stift Altenburg (Austria) and at the Schlosstheater Laxenburg bei Wien (Austria). In this role she “shined through the versatile expression of her soprano” (Der Neue Merker, 9.7.2016). The critics also pointed out her “elegantly guided voice” with a “silvery sound” (Kurier, 27.6.2016). The Piramo e Tisbe production by TEATRO BAROCCO was nominated for the Austrian Music Theater Prize 2017.
In addition, she presented herself at more than 100 concerts in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Italy and Japan. Major events include Gran Galà Verdiano at the Summer Festival in Empoli (Italy), Puccini and Verdi concert-performances in Teatro Araldo in Torino (Italy), Operngala: Veni-Vidi-Verdi in Seitenstetten (Austria), Grosse Operngala: Glanzstücke der Oper and Gala at the Klassik Festival Schloss Kirchstetten (Austria), Trnava Music Spring Festival (Slovakia), Verdi-Galas in Munich and Stuttgart (Germany), “Le donne di Donizetti” Gala at the Klassik Festival Schloss Kirchstetten (Austria), Mythos Opera Festival 2018 (Italy) and others.
Maria Taytakova graduated from Conservatory in Bratislava and Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia). She was laureate of the International Singing Competition of Antonín Dvořák in Karlsbad (Czech Republic) and finalist of the International Singing Competition of Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský in Trnava (Slovakia).
