Marco de Prosperis, conductor
studied piano and composition in Italy and conducting in the Music Academy in Graz with M°. Milan Horvath and M°. Martin Turnovsky. From 1990 to 1998, he was Conductor of the Graz Opera House where he mainly conducted Italian and German repertory, such as: "Aida", "Rigoletto" , "La Traviata ", "I Pagliacci " ,"Cavalleria rusticana" ,Tosca", etc .
In adition to his work in Graz, Marco De Prosperis developes an extensive international concert activity, conducting the best orchestras in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao), in Italia (Gorizia, Venice , Udine , Trieste, Roma, Milano, Napoli), Zagabria , Salzburg,Vienna, Prague, Helsinky, Berlin, Munich, Riga, etc. and he is regularly invited to conduct
in international festivals such as in Budapest, Bilbao, Prague, Madrid and Miskolc.
In 1992 Marco De Prosperis received The Artistic Prize from Austrian Government.
In 2000 he conducted in Semperoper Dresden and in The National Auditorium in Madrid with soprano Ainhoa Arteta.
In 2001 he was invited by the Spanish National Channel for a broadcasted concert, he also conducted a Verdi Gala in the International "Bartok-Verdi" Opera Festival with soloists Bruno Polam, Cecilia Gasdia and the Budapest Orchestra and a concert with the Munich Symphony Orchestra.
He went back to Budapest to conduct "La Boheme" together with tenor Ramón Vargas, to Beijing to conduct "Turandot" and lately a concert in the Shanghai Festival.
Marco De Prosperis has an extended discography, emphasizing the CD dedicated to Richard Strauss with the soprano Georgina von Benza and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Saarbrücken (RSO). He also recorded a CD dedicated to Verdi
( Arie d’Opera), with soprano Georgina von Benza and the "Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra".
Recently he has conducted "La Bohème" in the Nürenberg Opera, and soon he will be the musical director in the "Turandot" production in Bejing.
Apart from his activity as orchestra conductor, he has a wide activity as pianist. He has collaborated in more than sixty operas as pianist in the Graz Opera. He has also played in the International "Bartok-Puccini" Festival in Budapest, in the Toniolo Theatre of Venecia in Verdi´s Centenary, Innsbruck, Mainz, Munich and Frankfurt.
