She was born in Rome and studied opera with Ivenza Fogli. Graduated in Diploma di Canto Lirico
and has attended several singing master classes with the most leading opera's singers and teachers as Peter Maag, Richard Bonynge, Regina Resnick, Jeffrey Tate, Renata Tebaldi, Virginia Zeani, etc.
Ms Taigi’s repertory, over 70 opera's titles, over 400 performances, encompasses the major leading soprano roles of Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Donizetti, Mozart, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Giordano
Haendel, Haydn and so on, most important operas as Tosca, La Boheme, Aida, Un Ballo in Maschera Il Tabarro and Suor Angelica (with Riccardo Chailly), Simon Boccanegra (with Claudio
Abbado), Otello (with Riccardo Muti and Zubin Mehta), La Traviata, Le Nozze di Figaro, Andrea Chenier, Peter Grimes (with Jeffrey Tate at Teatro alla Scala), Don Giovanni, Cavalleria Rusticana,
Chiara Taigi sung in most of the main theaters of Italy, including the Teatro alla Scala and Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and as well as Florence’s Maggio Fiorentino, Bologna, Turin, Trieste and Genua and the theaters of Reggio Emilia, Modena, Parma, Spoleto, Venezia, Naples, Catania, Palermo, etc.
Outside Italy, Chiara Taigi sang in the most important theaters like Metropolitan e Carnegie Hall di New York, Opernhaus Zürich, Dresden’s SemperOpera, Oper Leipzig, Berlin’s Staatsoper and
Deutscheoper, Hamburg Staatsoper and at the Opera de Nice and with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Staatskappell in Dresden, Opera de la ABAO, Opéra National de Lorraine, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, at the Chaise Dieu Festival and several years in St. Peterburg Festival Summer Palace,

Chiara Taigi in TV and Radio has a most leaded presence as Opera singer in RAI and in the most important italian TV channels, also performed in the world TV as BBC, FRANCE2 e FRANCE3,
ARTE', ZDF, UDMTV24, NEVA, RTVE, etc.

Discoveries" and "Un Ballo in Maschera" produced by DECCA Records with Leipzig Opera and Orchestra Sinfonica e Coro di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, conductor Riccardo Chailly, the record of
plays of the "Italian National Anthem”, "Chiara Taigi: my favorite songs" and much more titles and editions.
Awards, prizes and acknowledgments
She was first prize winner in several important vocal competitions and made her stage debut at Treviso as Fiorilla in Rossini’s Turco in Italia and then in Mozart’s Schauspieldirektor also at Treviso.
