was born in Lettonia but is an Italian citizen. She graduated with full honours from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Rome and subsequently specialised further at the famous Accademia dell’Teatro alla Scala, Milan where she worked closely with the legendary Leyla Gencer, Ruggiero Raimondi, Renato Bruson, and others. At La Scala, Alisa performed Macbeth under the direction of Riccardo Muti and Lucia di Lamermoor under the direction of Claudio Abbado. She has also performed at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.
Numerous roles have seen her excelling in both Russian and Italian opera and such is her versatility that she has also won rave reviews for her interpretation of numerous Handel operas.
For two years, she was resident Soprano at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, and has also had a successful series of performances with Daniel Barenboim at the Staatsoper in Berlin. Recently she returned to La Scala to make her debut in Verdi’s I Due Foscari and Simon Boccanegra with the legendary Placido Domingo.
